Buck Owens was born in Texas’ oil country and gushed to prominence in the 1960’s as the front man for the Buckaroos. He had twenty-six consecutive number one hits and became, in 1969, the co-host of the Hee-Haw television show. Buck still performs twice weekly at his Crystal Palace nightclub in Bakersfield. Two hours up the freeway from LA, Buck’s empire attracts good old boys and alt-hipsters. Buck’s Country Store sells clothing, gifts, and rare memorabilia.
