An empty fridge doesn't hold the cold well. It's better if it has something in it. If you have a fridge with one carrot and a bottle of Evian (I call this the Ally McBeal), then you should fill it with water containers. The containers aren't for drinking, though I suppose you could. They are to retain the cold as you open and close the doors. (I'm not making this up, the science is good here).
