Giga Pets, Tamagotchi, Dinopets, and computer desktop pets—there’s a world of electronic love out there. These electronic pets, most of which originated in Japan, have become all the rage with kids (so why not adults?) around the world. But just like with real pets, these virtual pets entail taking a certain amount of responsibility for their wellbeing. Virtual pets respond with pleasure and happiness to good treatment but will die if not looked after properly. Caveat emptor!
