Camp Katana is a day program sponsored by Diamond Aviation of San Carlos. It lasts five consecutive days in July and introduces kids 10 through 15 to the science, history, and practice of flight through ground school, flight lessons, and VIP tours of the San Carlos Control Tower and the Hiller Aviation Museum. Or, for a quick introduction to flying (perhaps as a precursor to flying camp), the Young Eagles program offers free rides in small aircraft to young persons 8 through 17.
