Yogurt Maker
What it is: A nifty kitchen gadget from brewing up your own yogurt.
Why we love it: As we have been recently (and disturbingly) reminded, the food we buy at the grocery store has all manner of bizarre nonsense in it. There are great advantages to living in the age of super market science (Mmm, brocciflower), but it's not without its price. The more health-conscious diner may be upset with the idea of bugs in their yogurt... wait, scratch that, just about anyone would be upset by that. For anyone who might be inclined to do something about it, however, we might recommend this impressive little gadget, which allows you to make yogurt right at home. Just toss in all the ingredients (no bug carapace, please) and create the yogurt you want at home. We've long been familiar with the idea of home ice-cream makers, but we think this new dairy do-it-yourselfer is pretty exciting. Plus it'll give us that chance to find out if Kiwi-Butterscotch yogurt is any good.
Where to get it: From Williams-Sonoma for a pleasingly bug free $39.95
