What it is:
Batteries are most definitely not included with this clever gift, they're not even required. We had one of our techie friends explain how it works, and then we had him explain it again. We're still a little fuzzy on the details to be honest, but it's pretty neat. You just fill the reservoir up with water (or soda, or any other electrolytic liquid) and this little gadget will keep time as nicely as any of those boring old battery operated clocks. It will even work on beer! The clock creates a small, pollution-free electric current from its "fuel" and keeps on ticking day and night. It makes a novel desktop ornament for the gadgety or eco-conscious, they just have to remember not to drink the fuel.

Probably the only gift that is eco-conscious and can be filled with beer.
