What it is:
Everybody knows one. They don't own a television and they'll make sure you know that fact within thirty seconds of meeting. They disdain reality TV, they don't care who will be the next American Idol and the only television they ever admit to watching is PBS. They'll groan whenever you suggest going to a bar or pub, complaining about the awful racket of "the boob tube" blaring with the latest sports event, expressing, at great length, how awful it is for them to be stuck in the presence of such low-brow entertainment.
And you have to get them a gift.
Thankfully there's a device made just for such a person. The TV-B-Gone is a tiny (it fits on a keychain) universal remote control with only one button. The power button. The single button, when activated, emits over 200 different turn-off codes for nearly every television. Now your TV hating friend can enjoy that bar or restaurant in peace. The TV-B-Gone is so small and unassuming that no one is likely to notice your friend getting some much needed quiet, though people might wonder why the basketball game keeps shutting off.
Why we love it:
Even if you don't hate tv, this little black toy can make for a rousing game of 'What's wrong with the TV?' at your local bar.
Who we'd give it to:
TV haters, intellectuals, anyone in need of some quiet time.
Where to get it:
From
Amazon.com for a blessedly quiet $14.99
