What it is:
A device to hook an iPod into a car stereo and let you play MP3's through the speaker system.
Why we love it:
You've noticed perhaps, over the last few months, that your friend is developing a new, constant feature. You realize, looking back, that you can't remember the last time you saw him without those little white wires dangling from his head, and disappearing into his pocket. Yes, thinking it over carefully, you're quite sure, your friend is an iPodaholic. There's no cure, don't even try, mankind could not invent a 12-step program intense enough to unplug your buddy from the endless joy of mp3's. The best you can hope for then, is the chance to occasionally get him away from the headphones so he can have a conversation like normal people. Your best chance of this is gentle weaning with the Transpod FM converter. The Transpod allows your iPod crazy friend to plug his beloved little white companion into his car, to play and charge all in one unit. The digital drift-free FM transmitter allows them to play their iPod over their car's speakers, so if you can't cure them of their iPod habit, at least you can get those little white headphones out of their ears for a bit. The Transpod works with any car, just slide the iPod into the cradle and plug the unit into the cigarette lighter and they can listen to their entire playlist over their car speakers. It's handy, it's helpful, it's the only chance you have of actually engaging your friend in conversation again.
Who we'd give it to:
Commuters, iPod fanatics, music lovers, first car owners.
