What it is: Stick-on UV sensors that are applied directly to clothing or skin and indicate when a maximum recommended level of sun exposure has been reached.

Why we love it: Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is hard to measure and something we can't feel - it is not the warmth we feel from the sun. Time of day, time of year, altitude, cloud cover, and the angle of the sun all affect the intensity of the sun's rays. These easy-to-use and inexpensive sensors take away the guesswork.
