Why we love it:
Stuffed animals, like it or not, are pretty much a dime a dozen. Someone might have one or two very special childhood teddy bears, but for the most part it's all just buttons, plush and stuffing with no personality. Yes, they're cute, and cuddly as well, but they're just not particularly meaningful, and they're anything but unique. If you're in the market for a cute and cuddly gift, you've got to plumb a little deeper than the standard drugstore teddy bear if you want to create an impression. John Murphy's Stupid Creatures will, if nothing else, definitely create an impression. Each one is handmade and completely unique, produced entirely from your old socks. Yes, really, your old socks. Yes, you have to wash them first. Send Murph as many of your socks (or your recipient's socks) as you please, he gives good advice on which socks to send in his F.A.Q. and he will make you a monster of unique proportions, tailored to your specifications and unlike any other one. Sock monkeys were fine and dandy, but it's time for an upgrade, a sock monster will be a hit with the most discerning stuffed toy aficionado.
