What it is:
A novel pair of salt and pepper shakers that shake themselves.
Why we love it:
A formal meal should be a dignified, elegant affair, full of genteel conversation and impeccable etiquette. The finest china should be employed, the menu carefully considered, the guests selected for their wit and worldliness. All these factors will come together to make a truly unforgettable evening, but thankfully, most of us just have dinner and have done with it. Don't get us wrong, there's something to be said for elegance and etiquette, we just think it should only be said occasionally, and the rest of the time we should be allowed to slurp our soup and sculpt our mashed potatoes. In an effort to remind people that meals should be fun as often (if not more often) as they're fancy, we recommend these somewhat whimsical (and slightly strange) salt and pepper shakers. Made of soft silicone and equipped with a pull-cord (like those talking dolls) these shakers, well... shake. Pull the cord and watch them go, shaking out a dose of salt or pepper without you having to so much as twitch. Okay, it's not really a time saver, but it is a conversation piece, and a reminder that dinner should never be taken too seriously.
