Retro Recipe Box
What it is: An old fashioned recipe box, filled with old fashioned recipes.
Why we love it: There's something about the holidays that brings out the nostalgia in us. All those fond memories of grandma's kitchen, and all the wonderful food made special for family dinners out of her old recipe box. Sure, a cookbook is great, and the internet is full of great recipes, but it's just not quite the same thing. So if you (or whoever you're shopping for) is ceased by the nostalgic spirit, this stylish retro recipe box may be just the thing. It comes with 50 delicious classic recipes; like lentil soup, lasagna and double fudge brownies, as well as 50 blank cards to fill in your own recipes, and handy dividers to keep them all sorted by type of dish. The metal tin is as durable as it is cool, decorated with a fun and funky style that hearkens back to the good old days (whenever those were) when meat was meat, butter was still in fashion and eggs were still good for you. We might recommend updating a few of those classic recipes to keep the cholesterol down, but hey, maybe not, you only live once.
Who we'd give it to: Cooks, retro style mavens, grandma (though she probably already has one).
Where to get it: From Wishing Fish for a retro $16.95
