What it is:
A solid metal wallet that pops up cards and IDs at the push of a button.
Why we love it:
We admit it, somewhere along the way, we stopped caring whether or not our cell phone had absolutely all of the latest features. We also don't entirely understand how our remote control works, and the automated checkout stands that grocery stores are starting to have absolutely confound us. Yep, even though we live on the internet we have to admit it, we're not the wave of the future. Luckily, people other than us (people who we suspect are younger than us) have got the whole cyberpunk-is-here, the-future-is-now thing down cold. This wallet isn't for us (we would probably forget how to work it) this wallet is for them, those ultra avant-garde folks who lounge about on the cutting edge, getting their food in pill form and plugging directly into their computers. The sleek metal case can be loaded with six cards each of which pops out at the touch of a button. The wallet comes with a whole host of buttons bearing symbols for ID, insurance, logos for major credit cards and just about whatever else you could want, so you can customize the display and never forget which card is where. Beyond simply being nifty, the design does serve a useful purpose, the magnetic strips on the cards last much longer, since they're not rubbing up against each other all day long. Obviously though, this is not really about function so much as form, it's just the thing to round out the more modern than modern ensemble of your favorite future junkie.
