What it is:
A handy travel "dictionary" filled with pictures to point to, instead of foreign langauge phrases.
Why we love it:
So, you know someone who likes to travel, or at least, someone who has to travel. These aren't easy people to shop for, travelers tend to like things just so, and it's hard to know what travel gadget they'd really like. Some things, however, are fairly universal, like the desire to be able to order a plate of chicken and actually get chicken, or the need to find a restroom. Foreign language phrase books have done their best to address this need, but there are a few flaws in design. First, you need a new one every time you go to a new country, and second, just because you can read how to say "Excuse me, I would like a meal with no entrails, please" does not mean you can pronounce it properly. Both of these problems are solved by Point It, the travelers language kit that requires no language at all. The book is filled with page after page of images that can be used to communicate most things a traveler might need or want, simply by pointing. It's compact too, at roughly the same size as a passport it manages to contain over 1,200 pictures of food and other travel necessities. In a flash, your travel-loving recipient will be communicating in the universal language of pointing and grunting, can't get much handier than that.
