Monk Hot Sauce
What it is: A very hot habanero pepper sauce prepared by the Benedictine monks of Subiaco Abbey in Subiaco, Arkansas.
Why we love it: The meek may inherit the earth but they will never know the joy of tasting this hellishly hot habanero pepper sauce, created for courageous souls who are blessed with an ironclad constitution. Father Richard began making Habanero Pepper Sauce while living in Belize. When he returned to the United States he planted seeds in the monastery garden and started making his sauce to share with his brother monks. Eventually, the monks started offering the sauce in their gift shop. It didn't take long for Monk Sauce to acquire quite a spicy reputation in this River Valley region of Arkansas. Father Richard believes the thing that sets Monk Sauce apart from the crowded field of fiery foods is the generous amount of peppers used in making the sauce. Please practice prudence when preparing foods using this sauce and don't be tempted to share it with the faint of heart.
Who we'd give it to: Spicy food lovers will be happy to take on the challenge of this hot sauce.
Where to get it: From Holy Orders for a hot as h*** $12.00.
