What it is:
Tongue in cheek trophies to award someone for "unusual" skills.
Why we love it:
Oh yes, awards are given for all sorts of notable pursuits and achievements. We give awards for performance, for skill, even powerfully subjective qualities like "World's Greatest Dad." Still, there are certain niches that need acknowledgement, certain stones of talent which remain unturned. How, for example, can we reward that coworker with the enormous pyramid of paperclips without a "Most Innovative Use of Office Supplies" award? Should a spouse's skill at hogging the remote control go unrecognized? At long last, a way to reward these dubious talents has arrived. The Life Award statuettes come in a "Home" and "Office" version, with a variety of appropriate plaques for each case. Perhaps your coworker languished in the thought that his skill as "Loudest Phone Talker" would never be rewarded, well, now you can show them that their achievement is recognized in the clearest possible terms. It's a gift to both of you, really.
