What it is:
A set of fun and funky greetings cards designed specifically to be sent after the first holiday crush.
Why we love it:
Some people really mean to send out Christmas cards every year. Each December is greeted with the best of intentions; plans are made, address lists are compiled, sometimes cards are even purchased, and yet they never seem to manage to actually get them out on time. It's an endless cycle of guilt, followed by New Year's resolutions to actually send out cards next year. Well, why not give them a chance to take a break from the guilt and send their cards out right as soon as they're inspired by their resolution. January cards are not only a great alternative for the procrastinator, they're an unexpected bit of fun. The outside cover reads, "This is a January card for 2006. January cards are an elegant alternative to standard holiday cards because they dodge pesky religious motifs, surprise and refresh with their utter unexpectedness, postally and creatively circumvent the Christmas crush, have no hope of being on Venetian blinds, cure numerous common diseases, improve quality of life and tastefully camouflage tardiness." The cards, sent in January, will surprise and touch everyone on their list, and maybe even inspire them to get cracking early next year.
Who we'd give it to:
Procrastinators, athiests, grinches and scrooges, greeting card lovers.
