Why we love it:
We've always had a certain fondness for Rube Goldberg and his fabulous
devices. It's fun to imagine the most convoluted possible way to get a pencil sharpened, or a picture taken, but we have to admit, however regretfully, that they're not terribly practical. Luckily for us, and the impractical gadget lovers on your shopping list, there are plenty of impractical "problems" that we can address with equally impractical solutions. Frigits, for example, address the burning question of how you're going to get a marble from the top of your fridge, to the bottom of your fridge (or for cat owners, the equally important question of how to make a cat
even more insane). The colorful combination of magnetic wheels, buckets and rails attach to your fridge (or any suitable surface) and provided you've lined them all up correctly, will, through a series of rolls, spins and flips, deliver the dozen included marbles to the waiting catch box at the bottom. The result? Well, nothing more spectacular than a collection of marbles, now several feet closer to the ground, but sometimes the road is more interesting than the destination. Frigits are, of course, wonderful for children, but even your more suave and sophisticated adult friends will be taken in by this clever toy. If they're a big hit (and they will be), you can always give them one of the expansion sets for Christmas.
