Why we love it:
It starts to get difficult to find a gift for those up and down, scale-obsessed, fad dieting sorts. With low-fat, low-carb, no-carb, Atkins, South Beach, Slim Fast and all the other weight-loss tricks out there, it's impossible to know what kind of delicious treat is safe to get for your diet conscious friend. Maybe your calorie counting buddy is missing the days when she could just nibble on a tasty donut whenever she pleases, but of course you would never be so cruel as to get her a dozen of those forbidden fried treats, so perhaps a bit of sugary nostalgia is in order. Enter SewDorky's admittedly weird, definitely amusing, and assuredly calorie-free donuts. Each "delicious" fluffy treat is hand sewn, decorated with felt frosting and glass sprinkles (or nuts if you prefer). They're about the same size as a traditional donut, and come in a wide range of flavors, from the classic "Pink Sprink" (pictured here), to the dark and delicious "Bavarian Cream". It may not taste quite right with their morning coffee, but it does make a charming desk toy, and it's a diet reward that won't end up on their hips.
