What it is:
Normally we're against the clichè of giving dad a tie. It seems so obvious, and as gift giving experts we feel like we're phoning it in. Still, we think we'd be remiss if we didn't suggest this wonderfully sweet idea. The gift contains a plain tie (several different color options are available) and everything needed to put a record of his littlest treasure's foot and handprints on the tie as decoration. It's a wonderful way for a new dad to carry his baby with him any time he wants, and the questions that people will ask will give the proud papa a chance to break out the brag book or talk someone's ear off about every amazing thing that baby does. You can even keep the ink pad and supplies to add more prints as those tiny feet start to grow. Fair warning though, by the time they're 18 or so, they're going to start thinking it's a little silly.
