What it is:
A replica archaeological dig, complete with buried Mayan treasure, ready to be dug up.
Why we love it:
We often associate the study of history and archaeology with dull, musty old books and dull, musty old professors. It's the past, dead, silent and terribly dull, and few of us (least of all children) are encouraged to discover how exciting the past can be. Some children do harbor an interest in the musty and old, and if you're fortunate enough to know such an inquisitive young mind, then you should do your best to encourage them. Their very own archaeological dig, complete with tools and buried treasure, is certain to shake the dullness off of history for your little Indiana Jones. They can chip away at the sand, discovering hidden artifacts, jewelry and temple figurines. The included "mystery matrix clay" can be shaped and molded into replicas of artifacts, or anything else they can imagine. It's a mystery waiting to be unraveled, and a curious mind will devour it whole.
Who we'd give it to:
Mini Indiana Jones', curious kids, history fans.
