What it is:
A modular, modern bonsai tree, made entirely of cardboard.
Why we love it:
Some people are gardening fools, they'll grow an herb garden on their counter and flowers in their yard and maybe even some tomatoes round the back. Their cup (and porch) runneth over with potted plants of all kinds. Like some kind of verdant Midas touch, everything they lay their hands on turns to green. And then, there are the rest of us, for whom greenery does not sprout so willingly. We mean to water our plants, we do, but it's so easy to forget, so easy to get distracted and the next thing you know you have a brownish lump in a pot where a plant should be. You may be thinking about getting someone a plant, to warm their home, to welcome them to a new office, to wish them well, but before you do, stop and think, are they one of those gifted gardeners, or are they like the rest of us? For the rest of us, maybe something not quite so... organic is the best idea. The Atomic Bonzai (sic), may be just the right fit. Made of durable cardboard rather than delicate organic materials, it slips snuggly together without staples or glue and can, if you're feeling particularly saucy, be rearranged at will. All the cheer of a plant with none of the troublesome naturalness, what more could you ask?
